I'm just going to quote my post I made in my ISP's forum:quote:Still having exact same problem that seems to coincide exactly with receiving this error messages in my modem's event log. Wed Jun 01 21:03:45 2016 Error (4) DCC-ACK rejected unknown transaction ID;CM-MAC=*REDACTED*;CMTS-MAC=*REDACTED*;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; Wed Jun 01 21:03:43 2016 Error (4) DCC-ACK not received;CM-MAC=*REDACTED*;CMTS-MAC=*REDACTED*;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; (Time is one hour behind real time because I guess the modem isn't adjusting for DST right) Exactly same time is when I started losing packets: Reply[214] from www.google.com: bytes=32 time=22.1 ms TTL=46 Reply[215] from www.google.com: bytes=32 time=21.5 ms TTL=46 Reply[216] from www.google.com: bytes=32 time=41.8 ms TTL=46 Reply[217] from www.google.com: bytes=32 time=21.2 ms TTL=46 Reply[218] from www.google.com: bytes=32 time=26.8 ms TTL=46 74.125.138.103: request timed out 74.125.138.103: request timed out 74.125.138.103: request timed out 74.125.138.103: request timed out 74.125.138.103: request timed out 74.125.138.103: request timed out 74.125.138.103: request timed out Reply[226] from www.google.com: bytes=32 time=333.8 ms TTL=46 Reply[227] from www.google.com: bytes=32 time=30.3 ms TTL=46 Reply[228] from www.google.com: bytes=32 time=26.7 ms TTL=46 This happens several times a day and is also sometimes accompanied by a change of the upstream channel used. Let me add my provider (Atlantic Broadband), does not have upstream channel bonding yet for some strange reason, so when I say it's "hopping" upstream channels sometimes it's doing just that. It will read "Channel ID 1" and then an hour later it might read "Channel ID 2". They recently upgraded from 8 to 16 channels on the downstream. And it seems this problem started occurring the same week I noticed the extra downstream channels on my status page. Oh, and of course my signal levels are all fine... 40+ SNRs and power levels between 0 and -7. As usual they are trying to blame my modem. I'm going to install smokeping and MRTG to try to track the problem as closely as possible. Their tech support wants me to swap out my modem and try one of theirs, but I'm skeptical it's my modem. Someone with more experience with these modems, how likely is it that it is a problem with my modem?
