ARRIS Surfboard 6183 modem logging critical errors?

I am trying to diagnose a constant drop in connection at my house. Have a rather simple setup with a 6183 at my MPOE, and a Luxul XWR-3150 all-in-one wireless router. Even my ethernet connected machines are dropping connection. I am trying to rule out my modem as the issue, but I see that there are several errors in the event log. Can anyone shed light on what these mean, and if they are in fact critical/actionable? Thanks! hi, i have the SB6782(my own) with RCN 250/15 service. i have no issues ATM.everything works as it should. i was thinking of upgrading to the SBG8300. is this a good idea? the 8300 is a newer model but is it really that a big a difference if im on 250/15 service? if i went with the highest speed then yes it would be an improvement. im just thinking about the future. this whole virus thing is going to be the major catalyst to do everything online(alot is done online but this will change things, video conferences and so on )..thank you

SB6141 - Do my signals look good?

It could just be from so many people working from home/sheltering in place/laid off, but my new WOW! service seems pretty crappy. Do these signals look right? I originally had downstream power levels in the +6-8dBmV range. I added a tap and they are now close to 0dBmv but my internet speed and reliability still seems bad.

SB8200 Nagios plugin check command

Hello. Long time lurker. I wanted to share with the community a script I put together for monitoring my Arris SB8200 in a Nagios environment. I am very fond of the "simple" perfdata output that Nagios plugins provide, and I had a very sleepless night, so I decided to try my hand at it. It uses python2.6 (haven't tested with higher versions, please let me know if it works), and imports a utility called BeautifulSoup, which helps break down the HTML elements into a usable data structure. Source is available on GitHub: https://github.com/nichols-356/nagios_sb8200 My specific setup uses Icinga2 (a Nagios fork) to do the monitoring. It polls my Surfboard every 2 minutes, and funnels the performance data into Graphite. I then use Grafana, a front-end for making pretty graphs out of many different data sources, Graphite included. The result, is a dashboard like the attached screenshot. Let me know what you think! Also, feel free to hack away at it. I imagine it could be used for models other than the SB8200, as long as the table structure is similar.

Motorola SB6120 in bridge mode ?

Hi I have an old Motorola modem, which works fine, but has no Wi-Fi. I also have an old Wi-Fi modem, and would like to connect the two and use the Wi-Fi to connect my devices to Internet. Can someone point if there are settings to change in Either modem ? When I connect the tw with the cable, there is no Internet through Wi-Fi. I'm in Canada, but the SB6120 modem was purchased from the US. It works fine on cable mode. I've also posted this question on a Canadian forum, but the answers did not help to date.

All upgraded my modem to an MB8600 and then upgraded the internet to Gox Gigablast, not getting nearly 1Gb (average is 400mb or lower sometimes down to 50mb (speedtest.com). I have a lot of uncorrectable, but wanted to see if anyone sees anything in the modem that could be the root of the issues. No known splitters (townhouse, 3 house connections outside) - that I am aware of. Not sure of what other info might be needed.

Replacing Arris SB6190 with SB8200 ?

My Comcast/Xfinity service level is UP 29.9 Mbps DOWN 2.4 Mbps and everything works fine. Previously in June 2019 I was using a Motorola Surfboard 6121 modem and then upgraded to an SB 6190 and then experienced a notable speed and streaming video improvement, so I am thinking, if I upgrade to an Arris SB8200 should I expect an improvement also? I don't intend to increase my service level is Comcast. Thanks

MG7550 Upstream Connections

I have a Motorola MG7550 cable modem. this is a 16x4 modem. When first booted the US (upstream) arrow light is blue, which indicates 2 or more of the 4 US bonded connections are in use. After a while (intermittently) the light changes to GREEN which means only 1 upstream connection is in use. If I look at the admin interface on the modem status I see 4 locked/bonded US channels in use. However 3 of the 4 US connections show ATDMA modulation at 5k sym/sec while one connection shows TDMA at 2k sym/sec (guessing that is the one that is in use). Levels seem OK. US levels for all 4 connections are around +42 each. DS levels for all 16 connections are around +5 each and SNR all exceed 30 db. The cable provider is Spectrum upstate New York. My question is: When the US connection drops from 2 or more connections in use down to 1, is this indicative of an error? Or is this something cable providers normally do with their connections? DS connections do not experience this change. Thanks

Can the arris SVG2482AC be used for networks other than comcast?

My dad purchased this gateway back in 2017. He flipped back to verizon this year and couldnt use the modem any longer. He has a cabin in upstate PA and it is serviced by Zito media. I was wondering if he can reuse the existing arris. That model is not on the Zito supported device list, but it is a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. Would it still work anyhow?

Arris SB8200 Uncorrectables on over half the channels

Hello, I recently bought a Arris SB 8200 to replace the vilified 6190 because of the latency and high uncorrectable on every channel. Latency is way down and I do not really notice any issues. However, when I checked it's status there does seem to be alot of uncorrectables. Could someone take a look and let me know if this is something I should worry about? The drop comes into my basement into a single Antronix splitter provided by Comcast into -3.5dbi leg and runs about 24-30 ft to the 3rd floor. Cable modem--arris sb6183--large number of errors on only one channel

So, I have this Arris sb6183, and my internet has been very unreliable lately. I have been checking the various components of the network and one of the abberations is the cable modem Looking over the cable modem diagnostics, I see that one channel has an alarming number of corrections. Now the errors are "corrected" but seeing more than 400,000 corrections in less than 10 minutes screams a problem.

SB6183 - High corrected/uncorrectables?

How am I looking? Are these considered high? How is my SNR? I know Spectrum did some late night maintenance in my area on 5/26, but not sure if related. Is there a way to tell the time frame for these corrected/uncorrectables (hours/days/months)? Performance is fine otherwise, I'm just posting out of curiosity and because I see others post with 0's across the board. I'll be ordering an SB8200 as soon as Spectrum can send a tech to install gigabit service, but the 'rona has delayed that of course. So I guess ultimately this may be a moot question soon.

Arris SB6183 cable modem - Bufferbloat / Spectrum

https://www.dslreports.com/speedtest The Speed Test indicates that I have upload bufferbloat. This is with my Arris SB6183 cable modem plugged directly into the Ethernet port of my Desktop PC. Does this mean that the modem "upload memory" is the bottleneck, or, the connection as a whole? If the connection as a whole, is there a way to see the individual points that add up to give my connection a bad rating, and how much at each point?
